Sadly, I have lost my car owner’s manual. It’s an Audi Q5, I bought it two years ago. Now I want to change the oil myself, but I’m at a loss because I don’t have the user manual. What kind of oil should I choose? Please help me choose what type of engine oil to use.

Answer: Hi Jack, I appreciate your question. I think it’s a very good idea that you want to maintain the car yourself. An Audi Q5 deserves maintenance, if you can, get all oil changes done on time! The Audi Q5 has been in production since 2009. It was available with several engine options in the United States and Canada. Let’s see some examples of the type of oil for which engine.
- If you drive a 2010-2012 Audi Q5 and your car is powered by a 2.0-litre (155 kW) TFSI engine, choose 5W-40 engine oil
- For a 2013 Audi Q5 Premium Plus 3.0, Audi recommends 5W-40 or 0W-40 engine oil.
- Audi recommends 0W-30 engine oil for the 2017 Audi Q5 Premium 2.0
- Use only fully synthetic oil
It can be said that the more types of Audi Q5 engine, the more types of engine oil it needs. I recommend that you also change the oil filter at every oil change.
